CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS IN-OFFICE & VIRTUALLY
It takes awareness to recognize something is not working in dealing with life’s stresses and it takes a great deal of courage to seek help. I want to be your guide on the journey to discover healthy ways to manage stress, reconnect to yourself, and engage with all that is important to you. I will meet you where you are at and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I am a doctoral-level Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 19 years of counseling experience. I specialize in women's issues, particularly trauma, self-identity and life transitions. While my focus is on how you are currently functioning, I understand how the present is impacted by the past. I believe that as you gain greater awareness of yourself and your interactions with others, you will be able to engage in the world in ways that are congruent with and meaningful to you.
My counseling style is warm, supportive and committed to honoring your hopes and goals. I use DBT, Internal Family Systems and trauma-informed approaches such as EMDR to increase your awareness of patterns of thinking and acting that were once helpful, but now have become problematic. I believe therapy can promote your ability to heal, ease pain in your life, and help you effectively cope with stress.
